At Marsden Infant and Nursery School, we understand that families may face challenging times, and we're here to offer support, guidance and resources to help you through.
Colne Valley Help
Colne Valley Help is a local charity helping to end food poverty and food waste in the Colne Valley.
They run two community food share schemes in the Colne Valley which provide pantry staples such as food and toiletries that have been donated or is surplus supermarket stock saved from going to landfill. The two schemes are in Slaithwaite and Golcar.
They also create opportunities for volunteering both at the Community Food Share Schemes and st special times of the year such as Christmas when they give extra support to local families struggling with the cost of living.

Huddersfield Community First
The Huddersfield Community First team have launched a new Food Hub Support Service to assist families across HD postcodes.

The Food Hub provides monthly and/or weekly food parcels for households experiencing financial difficulty or food insecurity. All products are suitable for a halal diet, ensuring accessibility for families of all backgrounds.

The Huddersfield Community First team also offer household energy support over the winter months.

Uniform Exchange
Uniform Exchange was set up as a community project in 2011 to make sure every child in Kirklees could have a free school unfirom if they needed it. They're also able to support with accessing warm winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves. In fact, ANYTHING a child needs for school can be accessed; PE kits, tights, school shoes, trainers, pencil cases, school bags etc.

It's also provides a positive impact on the environment so please do your bit by donating outgrown school uniform if you are able. Marsden Infant and Nursery School are a donation point and will gladly pass on any donations to the Uniform Exchange. Our collection box is located in the school entrance.
Kirklees Council - Local Welfare Provision
Kirklees Council's Local Welfare Provision (LWF) scheme helps vulnerable people in short-term crisis with food and energy costs. The scheme intends to meet one off needs rather than ongoing expenses.
